How to arrive

 

 

 

     

Arriving from Oporto Airport
("Francisco Sá Carneiro" Airport)

The "Francisco Sá Carneiro" airport is located on Oporto's surrounding area (11 km north from Oporto downtown).

Arriving from Lisbon Airport
("Portela" Airport)

The "Portela" airport is located in the city centre of Lisbon.
 
 
From Oporto to Aveiro (~70 km)

Train is the recommended transportation.
Alternatively you can take the BUS.
You can also rent a car at the airport hall.
 
From Lisbon to Aveiro (~240 km)

Train is the recommended transportation.
Alternatively you can take the BUS.
You can also rent a car at the airport hall
 
 


From the Oporto Airport to the Oporto Train Station ("Campanhã" Train Station) - ~ 23 km

Metro, Bus or Taxi are possible transportation options.
The access to the "Campanhã" Train Station from the "Francisco Sá Carneiro" Airport can be made by metro ("Linha E"), from the 6am until 24:35. The metro leave every 20 minutes and the journey have the duration of 40 minutes.

 
From the Lisbon Airport to the "Gare do Oriente" Train Station - ~ 2 km

Bus, AeroBus or Taxi are possible transportation options.

AeroBus
Every 20 minutes, a AeroBus (n.º91) makes the connection between the airport and the city centre from 07h45 to 20h15. You can buy the tick on the Bus (3.1€).
 
 
From the Oporto Train Station ("Campanhã") to Aveiro City

You can take two trains: the "Intercidades" (intercities train) or the "Alfa Pendular".
First class is called "Comfort" and second class is called "Tourist". Both classes feature air-conditioned.
"Alfa-Pendular": about 35 minutes trip (for Tourist class prices are about  12.50€)
"Intercidades": about 40 minutes trip (for Tourist class prices are about 9.00€)
There are also other trains to Aveiro, but they stop in all stations (about 1 hour trip, price ~2€)

From the Lisbon Train Station ("Gare do Oriente") to Aveiro City

By Car

The main road access is the Oporto/Lisbon highway A1 (check the route here).
Coming from Porto on the A1, take the Exit 16 "Aveiro/Viseu" exit and follow the A25 (Aveiro). On the A25 drive 9km (near stadium) and take the exit “Aveiro”. On the IP5 drive than 6km and take the exit nº3, “Aveiro”. Follow the indications to the “Universidade de Aveiro”.
 
By Car

The main road access is the Lisbon/Oporto highway A1 (check the route here).
Coming from Lisbon on the A1, take the Exit 15 “Aveiro Sul/Águeda”. Turn right (direction Aveiro) and go 20km straight, where you will arrive to the University of Aveiro.
 

 

 

 

   
 

In Aveiro city
From the train station you can reach the University of Aveiro Campus:
- By bus (‘linha verde’)
- Walking (about 20 minutes)
- By taxi (costs about 4€)
- By BUGA, Aveiro’s free bicycle service

In the University of Aveiro Campus
In the University Campus map, the Civil Engineering Department is pointed in red. The car parking areas with free access are also pointed in the map identified (P - signed in yellow). The activities of the Seminar will occur in the "Complexo Pedagógico" building, signed in blue.
